2. Ramanujan National Maths Challenge

3. Madhav Mathematics Competition

The competition derives its name from Madhava, a prominent mathematician who made groundbreaking contributions to Calculus during the fourteenth century. His legacy includes remarkable achievements such as the Madhava-Leibnitz series for π, the Madhava-Newton power series for sine and cosine functions, and a highly accurate numerical value of π to eleven decimal places. The renowned “Madhava School,” characterized by a long lineage of teachers and students, thrived for over two centuries, leaving a lasting impact on the fields of mathematics and astronomy.

4. SOF International Mathematics Olympiad

The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) organizes the International Mathematics Olympiad (SOF IMO) as an annual event aimed at assessing the mathematical acumen of students ranging from grades 1 to 12. This esteemed Olympiad exposes participants to a challenging curriculum, fostering the development of creativity, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills from an early age. By engaging in a competitive environment, students also gain self-confidence in their abilities.
Those who excel in the IMO level-1 and rank among the top 5% will qualify to participate in the more advanced IMO level-2 competition. 5. NTSE - National Talent Search Examination

NTSE is a highly regarded math competition designed for high school students, offering a national level scholarship program in India. Organized by the Government of India and conducted by the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training), NTSE aims to recognize exemplary students studying in class 10th. The examination is divided into two stages:
Stage I – State Level
Stage II – National Level
It provides a platform for class 10 students to showcase their exceptional talents and be acknowledged at the national level.

6. Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics

The Mathematics Teachers’ Association (MTA) was established on 20th March 2018 during a meeting of its founding members at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education in Mumbai. The primary objective behind its formation was to foster collaboration among teachers, educators, and mathematicians, aiming to elevate the standards of mathematics education at various levels. MTA seeks to generate student interest in mathematics through diverse activities, nurture mathematical talent, and serve as an instrument for overall improvement in the field of mathematics.
One of MTA’s key responsibilities is organizing the Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO) in partnership with HBCSE (Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education). PRMO serves as the initial stage in the selection process for students aspiring to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
In continuation of their efforts, MTA is launching the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) as the first stage of their program. This three-hour examination will consist of 30 questions, each with an integer answer falling within the range of 00 to 99.
Subsequently, the second stage, known as the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), will be conducted by HBCSE, TIFR. The INMO is a four-hour examination comprising six questions, where students are required to provide answers supported by proofs.

By organizing these rigorous competitions, MTA endeavors to nurture mathematical talent, encourage intellectual growth, and pave the way for India’s representation at the esteemed International Mathematical Olympiad.
7. BRICS Math Competition

BRICS is a term coined to represent five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. These countries, collectively known as BRICS members, hold substantial influence on regional affairs.
One of the initiatives in the field of mathematics is BRICSMATH, an annual online competition. This competition is organized without any charges and is open to students studying in classes 1 to 12 in BRICS countries, which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Indonesia, and Vietnam. BRICSMATH provides an excellent platform for students from these nations to showcase their mathematical abilities and compete on an international level.
During India’s Chairmanship of the BRICS forum, several initiatives have been undertaken to foster skill development in BRICS countries. Notably, research papers on required skill development and workshops on skill enhancement have been organized in previous years. A significant emphasis has been placed on nurturing mathematical skills among children, thereby promoting the development of reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication abilities.
